I purchased a license of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016.
I then went to https://office.com/setup" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
It said:
Your product
Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2016
I downloaded the Setup.x86.en-US_ProPlusRetail exe file. I then ran it on my laptop. It caused Office to install successfully.
I then went into the Start menu and launched Outlook. However, it was not MS Office Pro Plus 2016 that installed; it was Office 365. The splash screen of both Outlook and Word specifically state, “Office 365.”
What happened? Shouldn't I have Office 2016? Is this a known issue where purchasers purchase Office 2016 but end up with Office 365? Will I be charged the annual fee for Office 365?

I'd try to contact Microsoft, you should have received Office 2016, not Office 365.
Best wishes,
