HTML5 format

Post by bknight »

I have purchased a few movies from Android play store. Up attempting to view one this morning in IE11 Win7, I received this error message "Your Browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available . Click here to visit our FAQ about HTML% video

I downloaded and install the most recent update to flash player, but that didn't help. is there a patch to allow watching those videos?

The big question is "what format do the videos use?" According to the table in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5_vid ... er_support, Internet Explorer supports only H.264 MP4 format completely, and you need OpenCodecs to play Theora and WebM formats.

Chrome or Firefox will play all three formats without extensions.

The Flash player is completely unrelated to HTML5 video; in fact, getting rid of Flash was/is one of the main drivers of HTML5 adoption.
