Google calendar.

Post by Roderunner »

Hi Folks, I use Google calendar in Firefox but it's the same in IE11.
As you see in my image, All Day events are shown differently from an event with a start time in 'month view' but are the same in 'agenda' view.

Can any of these be changed. More on this later.

I guess this was done to visually distinguish all-day events from 'finite' events in Month view. In Agenda view that isn't necessary since all-day events explicitly mention 'All day' there.
I don't see a way to change this behavior.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hi Hans,
this is how I changed the background. If I tick the 'Light Text' box, The month view displays both as in Friday 21 in my image above.
I just tried as above, it only changes the text not the background.

Same for me. Again, I don't know a way to change this behavior in Month view.
Best wishes,

Hi Hans,
The reason I'm now using Google calendar is because MS knackered WL Mail, my ex favourite program.
In GC if I set an all day event, I get an email reminder preset to be delivered on the day it's due @ 0600hrs E.G. Gow 1000hrs means I need to go to the bowling club @ the Gow @ 1000hrs. If I set the reminders start/end time it is harder to set, to get an email reminder when I want it.

I understand, but I fear that you'll have to live with the way Google Calendar handles colors, unless someone else has a better suggestion...
Best wishes,
Hans

Hi again Hans.
I have replaced all of the all day events I wanted to be set with a start time. I click on the first date in month view type 2PM Milk copy the text click Enter and it is added. I then go to next date click & paste, click Enter.

I have now changed to a daily agenda for my reminders, so now they look like this.
