Most recent Update and Bing problems

Post by uncle »

Downloaded most recent Windows11 update. It confirmed I was up to date, but I cannot Pause updates. The box is gray. (2023-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022913)

Also with the update Bing is now in my search box. I’ve done a search online with how to remove and all seems to suggest going into Registry. Is there another method. (Google is set as my default in Firefox and Pale Moon)

Thank you

What does the Windows Update section of the Options window look like?

Do you mean the search box in the taskbar?

Yes. search box in taskbar

Sorry If file is too big. Couldn't open it in Paint.Perhaps because it's on OneDrive?? Got a message 'File load not implemented.'

The option window says Updates paused until Wed, 4/5
The Pause Updates is gray
If needed, I could move this out of OneDrive to my user folder and try to send it from there.

You have paused updates for the maximum allowed period, hence you cannot extend the pause any more, The button now says 'Resume updates'. In April, updates will resume automatically.
Best wishes,
Hans

I never use the search box myself. I have set it to Hide in the Taskbar Settings:

To search, I simply press the Windows key (or click the Start button) and start typing.

Thanks you, Hans. I must make an eye doctor appointment. I thought the date was 3/5, not 4/5!
