silex technology, Inc.

Post by RonH »

This has been presented subsequent to recent W10 Update.
Is this something new on W10/HP USB devices ... I have not seen it before. Not yet installed but 'hanging there'.

Sitting in Settings/Update & Security/Windows Update. Maybe it was missed and should have been part of the 1803 update.

I don't see it on my computer. It appears to be a third-party WiFi utility, I suppose it came with your laptop.
Best wishes,
Hans

Must have or there has perhaps been some WiFi changes for some reason. I will let it 'sit' until it decides when to install but right now I am setting a Restore Point.
Thanks Hans

PS A quick further check suggests that it may be something to do with printer connection. Yesterday, after the update, the printer would not talk to my pc but it seems OK now so maybe this 'Silex' whatever will not install.

It's definitely not part of Windows 10 itself...

Further searches seem to indicate that this is the Silex awaiting install ... an April 2017 update that maybe got trashed in the 1803

So it repairs something that was messed up - I'd install it.

Sorted ... it failed to install so I will see if it ever comes back. Most likely an error.
