If you use ShadowProtect (SP or SPX) deactivate the license BEFORE applying Win10 Fall Creators Update.
The Update considers your PC to be a new machine and the next ShadowProtect backup will fail indicating that your license is not valid. Deactivating the license, running the Fall Update followed by reactivating the license will work fine.
I found out the hard way. But, luckily I had a spare license. The StorageCraft records will show that I have two licenses (same registration code) assigned to two PCs. This has happened in the past and contacting StorageCraft explaining the situation will have them release one of the two assignments.
I will post a reference to this posting in the Security and Backup Forum.

Re: ALERT! Win10 Fall & Apr2018 and ShadowProtect
Yesterday I applied the April 2018 Win10 Update v1803 and ShadowProtect again thought the new O/S was a new machine. Meaning, follow the advice in the above post ... deactivate SP before installing v1803.

Bob

Thank you immensely Bob Arch2 for the timely reminders you put out on SPX's odd licensing feature -- before your reminders I'd been bit quite a few times.
Now, thanks to you, my feeble mind is jolted.
