I am well aware he's not everybody's cup of tea but Woody is also a good source of new and summary Win 10 info:

NB that site has become to disappearing behind a 'resource limit' error message in recent weeks but you can also find him here:

My Win 7 HPE license allows me to use it on up to 3 systems at once. I paid extra for it to get this capability. Will I be able to get the free upgrade to Win10Home for 3 systems?

As far as I can tell, yes, you should get the free upgrade on all three systems.
Best wishes,
Hans

I read that Windows Media Player is going away. What, if anything, will replace it? I have been considering freeing all my music files from iTunes death grip and planned to play them with WMP.

As far as I know, Windows Media Player will remain (but there won't be a new version); Windows Media Center will be removed.
In Windows 8/8.1, Windows Media Player doesn't support playing DVDs; I assume it won't do that either in Windows 10.
The free VLC Player plays almost anything you throw at it, including DVDs.
Best wishes,
Hans

I think they MUST be installed on hardware so they can prove that they are being used.

If I were you I would make sure you had the hardware to install these licenses and have them up and running the GWX update.

The WMP version in build 10130 of Win10 is 12.0.10011.0. WMP 12 is available for WIn7 & Win8.1. I guess it is not being updated. Win10 will not natively play DVDs. If you upgrade a system which has Windows Media Center Microsoft will provide a program/app to play DVDs. Not sure if this program/app will be available for purchase by other Win10 users.

Once again senility strikes. I read the information but got the specifics confused.

Thanks, Hans!

Strange paraphrase...since the original post is leaner by a stretch...

I originally mistyped 'far' as 'fat', but corrected it after Bob quoted it...
