Today's Chick pea salad

Post by ChrisGreaves »

I boiled the chick peas last night, left them, boiled and strained, in a lidded bowl.
Lunch time:
Large mixing bowl.
  • A handful of purple cabbage, shredded in the shredder with A shake of ground black pepper.
  • A handful of cold boiled rice (I make a batch, as in chick peas etc)
  • A handful of boiled, cooled chick peas
  • Half-a-handful of sultana raisins
Mix the stuff in the bowl.

1/4 cup bottled lemon juice + 1/4 cup vegetable oil, shaken violently in a screw-cap jar (I was thinking of someone at the time; I find that always helps me to mix oil and anything)

Dribble some of the dressing over the contents of the bowl.
Mix again and eat with a spoon.
(Thinks: Must get my Cooking site back up and running .....)

I don't know whether I linked to this http://dinnerwithjulie.com/2008/05/17/d ... d-mojitos/before. But I recommend it highly.

In fact she has one of my favourite cooking websites.

I *hate* these web pages( ). Talk of smoked or roasted lamb etc. inhibits any sort of constructive work at this end. At any time of the day. I think I'll go find me a cat ....

My old tag line: "We're going to have to buy another can of tuna, or you're not going to be fat enough, come Christmas"

Now you have two cats to fatten feed, one can of tuna's not going to get you very far. :chef: :cauldron:

Scrumptious Christopher, I went out for lunch with Mrs J on Friday at an Italian cafe and they had something very similar, I found this to be a great side order with a lovely crayfish dish they had presented.

I don't think about chick peas in the same way any more- not after a cooking show satire, calling for chick peas, used two chickens and showed the yellow liquid being used in the recipes.

And I won't say anything about the leak and potato soup.

Coulda been worse if shot in Queensland where, I understand, they rely heavily on boar water.
