I am undergoing a fun project whereby I want to take some wildlife shots from the bottom of my garden using my Raspberry Pi. I plan to utilise an old router I have and turn it into an access point by connecting it to my main router using a length of Cat5 cable.
Somewhere in my cobwebbed mind I remember that there is a maximum length of Cat5 that can be used before the signal degrades...can anyone give me a ball park figure please?

Re: Cat5 degradation
You could wind the unwanted length of cable round the outer limits of your garden, or round your shed, if you want. Just be careful with spade or fork activity...
