Theme in Visio 2010

Post by Jack21 »

Hi - Can anyone help?

Is it possible to include a Theme in Visio that is accessible every time you open the application rather than for a specific flowchart.

Thanks as always

Unlike most other Office applications, Visio stores themes in the documents themselves, not externally.
The best you can probably do is create a blank drawing of the type you want, then create a custom theme, and save the drawing as a template (*.vst).
You can access the template by double-clicking it in Windows Explorer, or by selecting File | New in Visio itself.
Not ideal, but... :sorry:
Best wishes,
Hans

Hi Hans

Do you know where the templates need to be saved to? It is not defaulting anywhere as it does when you save a Word, Excel or PPt template in office 2010.

Welcome to Eileen's Lounge!

In Visio 2010, you can specify the default path for templates by selecting File | Options, clicking Advanced, then clicking File Locations in the General section.
Best wishes,
Hans
