According to Snopes the second photo is not Nagasaki, but Kozuchi.
Nagasaki is in the far SE of Japan, a long way from where the tsunami hit (the NW).

In Japan those Shinto arches are ... ubiquitous. You see them everywhere. Having two survive major disasters is probably well within the laws of probability - or, perhaps, shows the power of kami-no-michi gods!
