Do you have any indication about the trustworthiness of the company and its software? I'm sorry, but it looks much too good to be true to me.
Best wishes,
Hans

I Googled it and find mixed results. Chris Brennan is part of "Professional Windows Solutions." I think I'll pass on this one. Some of his sites are yellow according to WOT and that's good enough for me. IF you would try it out and post back about your experience, then perhaps you could convince me :-)

.....yep I know CAUTION is ever the watchword but seeing this offer came from the "Computer Active" magazine [a mag of repute here in the UK] I think it worth a try. Some years ago they offered "Ashampoo" & "ConvertXto DVD" both of which I plumped for and they are two of my most used & reliable programs. Cheers Dave.

Dave,

Here in the Netherlands, we are one hour ahead of you, it is just past midnight. The clock in the website has just started over again:
x453.jpg
This is a clear sign it's a scam - each day they try to trick you into thinking you have only a short time left to download, but next day it's exactly the same.

They didn't program the page very well - the time countdown is based on your local clock, but the date is the UK date
Best wishes,
Hans

I checked out that site and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only skeptic amongst us.
I also passed on even trying it out because of that nagging doubt in my mind.

Gosh that well known error message engrained on our minds

Solve Blue Screen Errors ‘0x0000002E’ and ‘0x00000050’

Then Microsoft tells us:

"To resolve this issue, replace the faulty RAM. "

This application is awesome, it even has a screwdiver and opposable thumbs...I am up for this one

I hate to sound grumpy, but wouldn't it be good to mention something about the software in the post (not only that we should hurry up & download); even if it is in a Light Relief forum? Or should it be interpreted as an example on what shouldn't be posted in (Other Serious Stuff) Other Applications?

Over to the software:
Gee,
"Instantly increases the performance of your PC and Windows - and corrects all Windows problems!"

All, really; wow! I wouldn't touch such software if they gave me £100++ (no matter what wot this or wot that says about sites). On the other hand; I don't trust most computer magazines either.

In my view, Computer Active is a computer magazine for the average user, not for we techies, with articles of the form "Thousands of ways to make Windows run faster!!". The only remaining UK Computer Magazine worth buying is PC Pro (and it isn't clear how much longer this will last, either).

PS Doesn't Chris Brennan look a smug git?!

I'm not sure Dave Davison would consider himself to be among "we techies"...

Sure.
But there again, anyone can go and buy a Mac nowadays. :innocent:

I was struck by the formatting of the site. The thick letters, alternating primary colours, "hand-swiped" markers etc are typical of courses that sell power-sales spiels.

Correct in one Hans...not a techie but at least it attracted a few posts & maybe opened a few eyes (like mine) to reality. Cheers Dave.

When you get to the bottom of the page, it seems that you DO have to pay for a 'newsletter' each year.

I understand that nobody has ever complained about their headache after this treatment.
