Overflow detected

Post by HansV »

It's been raining and raining, and not just here, but upstream in Germany too. So the Rhine has once again overflowed its banks.

As they say, water is good to have, but not too much of it.
I trust you ae safe and out of the flood zone?

Rudi

The peak water level is predicted to be tomorrow. I should be safe, but one street on the edge of the flood plain will probably be under water; it has already been closed to traffic.
Best wishes,
Hans

I imagine flood water spreads very widely in such a flatland. Lets hope it stays within the flood plains.

We have rain and cloudy skies for another week here.

That is deliberate. By letting the water spread over a large area, the speed at which the river flows is greatly reduced, which in turns reduces the risk of damage to the dikes.

Hans
