It's been raining and raining, and not just here, but upstream in Germany too. So the Rhine has once again overflowed its banks.

Re: Overflow detected
As they say, water is good to have, but not too much of it.

"Overflow"?
Shouldn't this have been posted in the VBA(1) forum?

What part of "nether-lands" did you not understand (operative syllable "under")

Re: Overflow detected
The peak water level is predicted to be tomorrow. I should be safe, but one street on the edge of the flood plain will probably be under water; it has already been closed to traffic.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Overflow detected
I imagine flood water spreads very widely in such a flatland. Lets hope it stays within the flood plains.

Re: Overflow detected
That is deliberate. By letting the water spread over a large area, the speed at which the river flows is greatly reduced, which in turns reduces the risk of damage to the dikes.

Hans

According to several online dictionaries, both dyke and dike are allowed...
