Scottish Football supporters look even more ridiculous than the larrikins from England.

Which reminds me: We are all by now familiar with the coconuts scene from Monty Phython's "The Holy Grail". This afternoon I had reason to review the clip for research in a debate between driving habits in England and the traffic laws in South Australia in the 1970s.
I was surprised to note that at the 0m12s mark of the clip linked above, the lone tree was propped up.
That struck me as quite a good visual gag by The Team.
I shall have to watch The Holy Grail again; perhaps tonight.
Cheers
Chris

Eh, I'm not sure it supposed to be a tree, but could be wrong (once a tree is possible).

Often in combination with quartering and other nasty things done back then.

Well Argus, I sure hope that you are wrong.
I have lost count of how many times I have watched that scene, each time hoping against hope that this time coconuts will be in season and be falling off the tree, like they do in Singapore.
After all, it is mid-summer here, 28c and humid, an ideal spot of weather for coconut trees according to Wikipedia.

And in setting these thoughts down on paper (well, typing them, anyway) I realise that the scene couldn't be set in Singapore, if only because Singapore hadn't been invented at that time.
Cheers

OK Chris, now you are responsible for me breaking a 46 year old absence … I have never watched Monty Python and The Holy Grail. I know, I know, shame on me for ignoring a classic. However, you will be happy to know that you are responsible for me contacting Amazon and insisting that they ship me the 40th year edition in Blu-Ray format. It arrives Wednesday. There, are you happy now?!?! :hairout:
Regards,
Bob

You don't give me much time. I can get a flight from YYT at 3pm tomorrow, lands YYZ 5pm, one hour to Union by TTC.
Can you meet me at Pickering GO, say around 6:45pm?

I won't be able to phone from Toronto International because it will be a long-distance call from Bonavista ... :flee: :flee: :flee:

PS. I can eat anything as long as it doesn't have nuts in.
PPS Do you think I should get a return ticket?

I might be able to save you some of your hard earned pension income and OAS if I contact Amazon and gift you a Blu-Ray player and the 40th Anniversary Blu-Ray disc. Perhaps it could arrive by Wednesday? The truly downside would be missing another pleasant lunch with you at Jack Astor's! :hairout:

Bob

What if I flew Air Canada and did away with the Porter "bumps" :snail: in Halifax and Montreal? Then I could get the 0950 from Union ...

I hadn't come up with any expenses yet; you being the host, so don't you worry about me being out of pocket.
I was thinking of waiving my usual interpreter's fee.
Cheers

Could be, but worked with context and context.
Via football supporters & Monty's Holy Grail we ended up in Newfoundland, as usual, and rather quick this time, don't you think Hans.

Missed to mention (and thus added to the deviation); that's beautiful photos from an amateur, and reminds us that there can be unexpected marine life close by.

I am truly sorry Argus … I swear it is all Chris' fault … he dragged me there!

Now, about those undersea creatures … truly amazing!

OK.
Just to get us back on track:-

This is what a Canadian looks like when they learn that yet another Lakeshore GO-train has been cancelled in order to ramp up the "on time arrivals" statistics which, I understand, affect the manager's bonus.
And just to prove that I can reply to a post without diverting into YouKnowWho and the YouKnowWhat, this morning I found flower buds atop my triffids:-

. I just hope that the tubers are merrily a-tubering down below.
Cheers

Should we be worried? (Them being invasive and all that.)
But no marine life?
