Re: Christmas
Its certainly an appropriate picture….
I have had a similar picture to that in my head since yesterday… I am wondering if I can rig up some of my old LG Notebooks to help my wife with the people she cares for… …
She fought the entire year and went against the trend achieving something quite rare, in keeping Corona out of the residential home she works in. The place was getting ready for Xmas..
But..
As of yesterday two of the residents are positive with Corona.
They are all quarantined in their rooms, and the authorities have sealed the place up. I probably won’t see my wife face to face for a while…

Re: Christmas
I'm so sorry to hear.
While it's not much comfort to you, many of us will be affected to some degree. We won't be able to see our younger daughter for Christmas, but we saw her last week, which is a big consolation.
I do work in a retirement home, but it's gone into lockout, so many people will be missing family members.
At least there is now some hope through the gloom.

Re: Christmas
Al, sorry to hear that Christmas 2020 will be so difficult for you and the wife.
Here's a father and son boogie woogie jingle bells rendition that I hope will spread a smile or two.

Agreed. Alan, sorry to hear!
Though it doesn't come close to the real thing, I hope you can stay in touch with her via video calls at least?

Autumn 2020
Xmas Eve 2020
But its not so bad really, I already seen a lot of her already over the years , and she may get a special “”AusnahmeGenehmigung” Permit” to allow her to be in “Tunnel Quarantine”. This would allow her to come home to sleep once in a while..( if she promises to come and go directly to work and avoid direct contact with all other humans, including me). She is very, very tired.
Also if she manages to prevent Corona to spread to the other residents, then they can relax a bit in two weeks.
Some poor Nurses have been in the situation months on end.
In Germany the Summer went very well under the circumstances, but its suddenly caught us all out again with an exponential increase that’s proving hard to bring into control
Latest news today was that the new more potent version of the virus has just arrived in Germany :( )
