Central Core of M31
Here's the central core of M31, the Andromeda Galaxy from 11/09/20.
12 x 240 seconds without any calibration frames because it was my first night out playing with the new camera.
Dust bunny cloned out, vignetting cropped out. Camera sensor amp glow evident to the bottom right.
Regards
Graeme

Nice photo.
But I was misled.
The thread title led me to believe that it was about the motorway from Melbourne to Sydney.

Or half of the M62 from Liverpool to Hull (roughly!)...

This image has been added to my slideshow of wallpapers; I shall try not to stare at the lower-right corner.
Graeme, another great image. Thank You.

Re: Central Core of M31
We would have problems if the Australian M31 (the main highway between Sydney and Melbourne) hadn't been built.

The M31 in England, which would have connected the M3 and M4.
Best wishes,

Or it could have already been destroyed 2,500,000 million years ago.
How did this discussion segue from motorways to galaxies anyway?

Re: Central Core of M31
Don't ask me, mate. I can only remember from around 1950, and some of the years between 1964-83. Most of the years since then.
This thing started, and here I quote "2,500,000 million years ago" which, allowing for Excel rounding errors, is about 714 times the previously believed life of the universe.
Pick on them, or it, whatever it was!
Cheers
Chris

Ok, you must be running the Genesis version of Excel.
