Since there was some interest in the galaxy image I posted, here's one of the planetary nebula M57, the Ring Nebula in the constellation Lyra.
Captured 19/05/20. 18 x 240 second exposures. I was quite pleased with the final image because it was the first successful inclusion of a full set of flat frames taken using my home made cardboard, duct tape, LED, 12v light box!

Graeme

Re: M57 - The Ring Nebula
Thanks Hans.
M57 is quite bright, for a planetary nebula and was one of the first things I imaged a couple of years ago. So it is nice to see the improvement.
Regards
Graeme

Oh no!, just when I thought my GAS attack had passed, you go and post another lovely astrophoto.
Do you think if I'm very, very, good for the rest of the year and I (hand) write a polite letter to Santa that he will bring me the sort of kit that would allow me have a go at these sort of pictures?
Ken
PS my better half has already indicated that she won't be able to contribute to Santa's fund

I'm sure he will. He brought me a guide scope last Christmas. And if you explain how you can bring joy to the world you might get a Santa fund contribution!

Surely a letter to Santa isn't that costly.

A quick search, and I found this one, quite cheap, I'd say.
