I see this behaviour when I go to gym too. Guys in the change room admiring their physique in the mirror. (One the one side it;'s a bit pompous me thinks, but on the other side, they have put in a lot of effort to look like that so I venture to say a bit of self admiration is probably OK...(but it must be minute and short-lived else it becomes weird!!!!))

I also used to think it was all Narcissus - based. But when I was doing some weight training for football, a couple of the professional body builders at the gym told me I should be watching myself in the mirror, to make sure I was not favouring one side when doing the heavy weight repetitions etc. Makes sense.
