DC security robot quits job by drowning itself in a fountain
I suspect it must have had a pain in all the diodes down its left side.

Re: Suicidal robot
Those steps are not very robot friendly!
There is no barrier that can be detected by a navigational system to warn the machine to stop or veer off from its path. I wouldn't be surprised if a self driving car also had the same mishap (if this fountain were in the middle of the road for example).
In light of this, I'd say it's murder instead of suicide!!

Moreover, robot suicide would violate the Third Law of Robotics...

I don't think this one had a positronic brain Hans. It doesn't seem to have been very clever at all!

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. Where's the law that says robots can't get thirsty?

Re: Suicidal robot
If the DC you mention is Washington,DC, I"m not surprised at all. A LOT of incidents there about people jumping in fountains, getting fired and all. So why not a robot?StuartR wrote:DC security robot quits job by drowning itself in a fountain

After a day of beating my head against the techno-wall, this was a delightful thought.
