BIG Things Happen in Texas
This hammerhead shark was caught off the Texas coast over the past weekend. At 1033 pounds it breaks the previous the world record set in 1980 by a mere 871 pound specimen . . . also caught off Texas' coast.
I realize this doesn't compete with your Great Whites off Cape Cod, VikingBob.

--------------
The Great Whites are back in force this summer. Record number of taggings mostly in the South Shore and Atlantic sides. They are after the Seals which are here in great numbers. Even had a little 9 foot youngster that got trapped in a local Marina mooring area. i think it was Chatham. The poor animal died the next day of unknown causes.
Imagine coming topside and there is this GW checking you out at the dock?
That Hammerhead is sure a biggie! It brings up the debate of weather or not they are dangerous man-eaters. For many years they were not considered bad guys but now it seems to have been turned around? I go for the old label but don't really want to test it out!

Tim McClellen will have a problem telling stories of the fish he caught as his arms won't be able to stretch that far. At least he is one fisherman who won't be able to *stretch* the truth.
