Gosh. A LOT of people have lost their pet budgies! They should really be more careful.

They are showing interest in what I presume is a termite mound?

Re: a chatter of budgerigars
They aren't interested in the mound, its simply a fly past, incredibly noisy at that. They are desert dwellers and survive by having the huge colonies flying about, making it harder for predators like eagles to catch one.
Quite a spectacle, I've seen a few of them.

What does the "FH" on Onslow's cap signify, if anything?

From 8 Facts You Didn't Know About Keeping Up Appearances:
The "FH" on Onslow's hat stands for "Fulton Hogan Ltd.," a New Zealand asphalt and road-building company. When Geoffrey Hughes was there promoting a show, he was given that hat by one of the company's truck drivers.

Returning to topic; budgerigar, that would be undulat in Swedish.

I shared a house with Onslow (Geoff Hughes) in Newcastle in the early '70s. Not a lot of people know that
