This afternoon's amble was to some nearby woods in search of bluebells. I thought we'd be too early but no, we were rewarded with a fantastic carpet of blue/violet/purple/your best description of bluebell 'blue'.
The photo doesn't do it justice.

They remind me of an inverse of the Jacaranda trees we have on this side of the world (esp. in Pretoria -- AKA The Jacaranda City)

Here's some bluebells from my part of the UK. They're a few weeks earlier than usual this year.

They are lovely and add a beautiful hue to the undergrowth.

Meanwhile, spring has sprung on the island of Mainau, Lake Constance (Insel Mainau, Bodensee). Photo of yesterday afternoon.

At the same time, near where I live, fungi moved in on the trees that were too badly burned during the fires a few months ago....
....but recovery is progressing nicely.

Re: bluebell time again!
I'd rather eat flowers than "Sea salt caramel", which sounds horrid for an ice cream flavour.
PS: Lets not even talk about "Tin roof". How rusty and metallic does that taste like?

Re: bluebell time again!
Somehow, "sea salt caramel" has become very fashionable, at least here in The Netherlands. I try to be open-minded, so I recently tried chocolate with sea salt caramel. Not recommended!
Best wishes,
Hans
