Nor'easter Comes from Sou'west

Post by BobH »

Keep good thoughts for Viking Bob and those in his neighborhood. The red arrow seems to be pointed directly at them!

We received pics from wife's sister in Charlotte NC of 6-8 inches of snow on the ground this morning.

Thanks, BobH. We have our eyes to the Southwest, looking for that big red arrow.
Hopefully, it will turn more to the South and go out to sea. ETA around Tuesday AM. MY snow plow guy loves this weather . :groan:

Thanks from me, too. We're in the southeast corner of Pennsylvania (just south of the "O" in the label for New York), within the predicted highest accumulation area. I'm very glad that last year we had the tree limbs trimmed back from overhanging our power and telephone cables.

AH, Waterfront homes! Really nice in the good weather but ( but expensive). I have lost count of the times some friends who have waterfront in Scituate, MA., have had their home blasted in by water, storm winds & tides. But they keep on repairing and cleaning up. Insurance doesn't cover all those incidences, so just open the wallet and shell out! :groan:

Goodness me... Disney could hire it for a days shoot for some fairy tale. It'd make a wonderful set.

Looks like at least the Cape & Islands have escaped this storm.
Only rain, which appears to have stopped now.
Still very windy.
How about you, Jay?
Off Cape sounds like they may be getting hammered in some spots.

Glad you're getting less than predicted. It's going to be cold here, too. Predicted to be in the 30's briefly tomorrow morning.

Seems its the back end of your winter...

For us, it seems its the very first of our seasonal rains. 73% is a good chance for us; this will literally be the first rains we've had for a few months now! Our dams are only 25% full and Cape Town is desperate for some water! Lets hope this is the first of many such days ahead for us! :please:

Rudi, I hope the high probability of rainfall brings with it copious amounts to help fill those reservoirs.

Bob, I'm glad to hear the Cape escaped the worst. Here, the storm tracked a little farther west than predicted, so we got about 5 or 6 inches of mostly sleet instead of the 10 to 12 inches of snow we were promised. There are a lot of trees and wires down, but not in the immediate neighborhood. I just had to chop ice away from our front door to be able to open it.
