I wouldn't stand for any phone use at my dinner table. I just do not understand the necessity of constantly having that thing stuck in your face. Call me old fashioned or whatever.
I would ask them to please put the phone away. If no response, maybe an accidental spill of the gravy boat in their lap would end the night for them?
