Compare the true size of countries
Many maps use the Mercator projection which hugely exaggerates the size of countries far from the equator. The True Size Of ... lets you specify a country and drag it around the map to see how it compares to other countries (the displayed size is adjusted while you drag).
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Compare the true size of countries
You would never say that Greenland and Dem.Rep. of Congo are the same size!

This is brilliant! At last a chance to assure my European friends that "touring around Australia" will take rather longer than "seeing" Spain + France + Germany
and to show people that Greenland doesn't really cover half the globe

I have long longed for a globe which would let me slide around countries.
This map lets me do that.
Now I want to be able to flip Australia on an axis Perth-Sydney to show USAns that Australia is really the USA from San Diego to the Carolinas, but much hotter!
