That's really cold, although our Canadian friends will think nothing of it...

Thanks Rudi . The colours have not been enhanced, it's the way it really looked this morning. Though roll on our short summer :thankyou:
Your pic reminded me of the bush fires when I lived in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne Aust.

I can't speak for all Canadians, and have no friends, but myself, speaking personally on my own behalf, think nothing of exactly zero degrees, in any scale :flee:

That's quite a negative report Bob.

Is there any snow about? I don't see any icons indicative of snow? If not, are you guys struggling with ice (on the roads, in the gutters, in the garden hoses, etc)?

Rudi

Yep ... gutters can be quite a problem. You have the choice of gutters braking loose due to weight of ice or being 'nailed' should one of these beasts fall. Very tricky to knock down when the gutters are high up :flee: hit it with a long length of (say) wood and run fast.

Has been colder over the last couple of days. Was -15°C with a wind chill factor of -24°C both mornings when taking the dog for her first walk of the day @ 6:30AM. As of this writing it has warmed up to a toasty -8°C feeling like -14°C.

What snow we had about two weeks ago has disappeared except for small piles on the edge of the driveways. Roads, sidewalks and pathways all clear ... meaning running shoes are the order of the day! Gutters aka eaves troughs all clear. No worries about garden hoses as they were disconnected and stored in October.

A few years back the good wife got me a winter coat rated for -20°F. I'm good to go! :hairout:

Bob

+22c for me the entire weekend.

There again, I spent the weekend snug in my apartment with a stack of books, and home-baked biscotti, ginger snaps, and shortbread. Also 861 movie titles ...

We have the worst of all worlds here.
The days are getting longer, but they are also getting colder.

There should be some sort of weighted formula to express misery in degree-hours ..... :cranky:

You're not the only one stuck in a heatwave Bob: Where I live, we're expecting the next few days to be in their low to mid 40ºC temperatures.
Cheers, Claude.
