Here is a translation of the Dutch article. Schiedam is a small town near Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It's the traditional home of the Dutch "jenever" (gin) distilleries.

Vodka from Schiedam has a customisable LED label

Even though their labels often look cool, preople mainly buy a bottle of vodka because of its content. This principle will not change quickly, but Medea Spirits does provide a very entertaining label.

The label on their bottles of vodka is equipped with a programmable LED display. It can store and display up to six different messages. The text scrolls above the fixed label. A message can be up to 225 characters long, much more than, say, the 140 characters of a Twitter message.

LED Label

The LED label can be turned off to save battery life. How long the battery will last is not clear, but according to Medea Spirits the LED display can be turned on and off about 500 times before the battery runs out. A 750 milliliter bottle of Medea Spirits vodka costs 30 euros. By the way, the vodka is distilled from wheat of Dutch origin.
Best wishes,
Hans

"Buuettoen"?

Reminds me of the French police officer (the British agent) in 'Allo 'Allo!; "Good moaning!".

Anyway, better start "programming" before opening.
