Meanwhile, in the UK, the sun is setting here now and the sky is a lovely colour...

Great photos, all!
Are your trees birch or beech, Hans?

No photos from me. I didn't even get to go for my regular weekend run in the park because of the rain.

Hans - how do you get time to take photos?
It's easy to take reasonable pictures in exotic locations. It takes a lot more to take good pictures in your own back yard. Figuratively speaking. Well done.

Here in Milton, it's very, very windy--gusts up to 50 MPH!! It sounds like the ocean, actually. Cool but not too cold.

The maples almost always are...
It's so windy here the birds can't fly like they usually do... they're hopping around. It's sort of funny. They've discovered the black sunflower seeds so everyone's happy.

One of the most beautiful sights of the American hillsides are the Maples in fall that transform the country side into an array of colours....Absolutely stunning to view and an awesome photographic opportunity.

It's a huge tourist industry now in the Northeast! The colors ARE stunning, you're quite right, Rudi!
Where was that photo taken?
Here in TN we have lots of colorful fall foliage too but not as much as up North.

Re: A quiet November afternoon
I can't speak for Hans but I'd say if you carry a camera with you and most people do these days, on their phone then you have lots of time to take photos.GeoffW wrote:how do you get time to take photos?
Not really, at least not in my experience. It's more about thinking to take a picture in your own back yard. Take for example the one of the evening sky further up this thread. I happened to be looking at this thread when I noticed the sky out the back window. I've seen lots of similar skys before but this time the prompt of the photos Hans posted made me get up from the sofa, get my camera out and then lean out of an upstairs window so I could get a shot without the neighbour's house in the frame.GeoffW wrote:It's easy to take reasonable pictures in exotic locations. Similarly, my drive to work takes me through woodlands. Today it was frosty, the first real frost of the year so I picked up my camera as left and then pulled over en route and took this picture.
