I had to smile at these two "Life Humour" inserts in a Readers Digest I was browsing through....
I manage the home entertainment section of a department store and was amused by a phone conversation one of my staff had with a new computer user. The caller asked if we carry "Windows 98 for dummies". "No", he was told, "but we sell The complete idiots guide to Windows 98". The man groaned and said, Ugh, the Complete Idiots Guide is way over my head!"
A big challenge of running a small business is dealing with employees requesting for time off. One morning an employee said, "I need to leave early tomorrow." Later the same day, he followed up with, "Looks like I'll be coming in late tomorrow, but if my coming in late runs into my leaving early, then I won't be coming in at all."
