Bob, you are spot on.
I don't deal with Amazon, never had, but I have stopped dealing with firms (Best Western, TracFone etc) that can't or won't listen to me after I've sent them money.
For my recent trip I specifically asked that the agent NOT record my email address, and true to form, I'm now receiving unsolicited emails from them; this from a storefront that is less than 100 steps from my front door, a storefront I walk past at least twice a day.
I am this close to never using them again.
I'm starting to rant, aren't I?
OTOH I return year after year to the little hardware store down the street that has never treated me like an imbecile, and is always happy to order-in, accept returns, and sometimes, even just to chat.
