Yes, Hans, I'll be in Paris on the 29th.

I'll be passing out

I check out of my hotel in the 12th arrondisement (Daumesnil/Dugommier Metro) and take line (6) to Denfert-Rocherau, then the RER to CDG-2 for terminal 3, flying Air-Transat back to Toronto at, I think, 5pm, so I ought to be through the wossit by, I think 3pm.

Any of that any good?

FWIW I'll be the aged guy, slightly more overweight than usual, sore feet, and my possessions in a bright orange shoulder-bag, but with an encyclopedic knowledge of the Translinean, and a rare (for Paris) but useful knack of dissuading beggars that haunt the trains.

Hey!
At my age, any sort of tart is appreciated, custardy or not

I have to catch a train at Bercy at 1 PM - only one stop from Dugommier on the #6 Metro line, but you'll probably be too busy preparing for your return flight.
Best wishes,
Hans

This is but one of the reasons I'll be bypassing Paris...

Well, Hans, if you are thinking of traveling near my quartier I think you'll have plenty of time ...

Instead of visiting a gare with only a couple of passengers, you could have visited an entire abandoned railway in the centre of Paris.

If this is the one I'm thinking of, it ran along where I worked in 1980, near Courcelles/Place de Clichy, NW part of the city.
I recall walking by a trenched railway but not seeing any trains on it.
Quite unlike the trench that runs along Rue de Rome out of Gare St Lazare.
I had lunch at Pont Cardinet not two weeks ago (sniff!)
The only day it rained in two weeks, and then only for two hours.

Check out the rain bouncing off the footpath on the far side of the street.
Lucky for me I was trapped inside a Brasserie! (note to Rudi: Not what you think it is!)

Huh! - call that rain? I was two hours from Major flash flooding in France but fortunately got warned just in time.

Oh be fair, Leif.
The rain began again the day I left; even the breakfast waitress was sad.
I said "It's my last day and look, it's raining" and she said (pardon my lousy writing) "meme, le ciel is not content" which I interpreted to mean that even the heavens were weeping.

I bring sunshine wherever I go, and when I leave the waiters and the waitresses and the heavens themselves open up.

Montpellier was probably just ticked off because the Translinean doesn't go that far, so I didn't visit. If they'd just work a bit harder to get themselves added to zone 5 of the Navigo Card we would all be happier! :clapping:

Including Montpellier in the Transilien network would stretch the definition of Île-de-France a bit...
