'Cool' doesn't even even come close. 'Awesome' is getting there but still far short of a full description of Andrew Latimer's prowess on guitar. If I had to choose one track, it would be 'The Hour Candle'. It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. A quick search turns up this (bootleg) video of a live performance:

Why not set the microwave for a minute, and turn it on with nothing in it, and open the door after 15 seconds. Now put the coffee mug in, and turn it on again for the last 45 seconds.

More cheaply, again set the microwave for a minute and put the coffee mug in immediately, and turn it on. Remove the mug after 45 seconds, and cancel the remaining 15 seconds.

All you need is an additional kitchen timer!

All mathematically sound, but I like to place my cup in the oven, and then while it is heating up...run to the loo.
Waiting around for 15 seconds is unproductive

Or just set for a minute and watch the countdown timer on the MW, when it gets to 15, open the door.

I thought Rudi's work just had a really cheap microwave?

I can't believe it; we are nearly on Page 3 of this thread and we still aren't done analyzing the first sentence of the original post.
"Pause?" I said to myself, "who mentioned pause?".

Ah. Now we see what a real education can do.
I thought it was the Cardinal that went cheap.

What I want to know is how did the lady know about the grill feature? If it's usually turned off for safety reasons... who's grilling in your office? And what?

I don't know the details but its to do with fire hazard. The "handyman would have disconnected the grill element, since this would not be allowed to be used in the building itself...in the kitchen yes, but not in the work areas. Not sure how Monica knew, but either through experience...(been there a long time)... or through training as she falls under the office management dept...and the cleaners get training in these areas...AFAIK??

I think Monica's been fooling everyone. She's not a cleaning lady, she's a caterer, and she's been using your canteen as her kitchen. HAH!

That wouldn't be true here. If it snowed in November in Australia it would probably be close to the end of the world so there would be no December.

It's interesting that a microwave has a grill feature. I don't think I've ever seen one in the US with a grill feature.

The MWO that we have can be set to any number of whole minutes and there is a button to add 30 seconds to the setting which can be activated any time. If you want 37 seconds, we can do it.

But no grill feature in the MWO.

If our boerewors comes off the fire too quickly because the rugby is starting, then the wives need to grill it further to finish it.

I don't think biltong is barbecued or grilled. It is cured meat...

Often wonder about the concept of 'cured meat' I mean if the meat was cured a) what illness did it have and b) how come it's not still alive?
