Re: Question for our UK members?
According to this thread, the bread is personal choice. The most popular seems to be on white bread or whole wheat. Dark brown is not a common favourite. Also, it seems to be favoured more on bread, not toast. Lastly, stonger breads like rye might affect the cheese and pickle flavour...

Re: Question for our UK members?
Wholemeal bread, light brown bread, crusty white bread, even a roll or French baguette - whichever you prefer.
Best wishes,

Re: Question for our UK members?
OK, seems everyone has their own type. Might just have asked, "how do you like your eggs?"
I'll opt for whole wheat. Now if I can only find Branston pickles, I can try it out!
The only sure ingredient is the cheddar cheese.

Re: Question for our UK members?
My experience of bread is that the kinds of bread you get in each country are very different. Even if we use the same name for a variety of bread it's likely to be a completely different loaf.

I apologise for the iPhone generated "preference" rather than "prefer". Darned autocorrect.GeoffW wrote:I preference Edam.

I'm not sure if my intent was clear. "Edam" is "made" backwards.

BTW: On the iPhone, you can turn off auto-correct without sacrificing spell checks. See attached...GeoffW wrote:I apologise for the iPhone generated "preference" rather than "prefer". Darned autocorrect.
If you go to Settings, General, Keyboard, switch off Auto Correct.

Most of the time autocorrect is fine. I'd rather have it termed on.
And it was me who didn't understand the intent of your reply :-(
