I used to play the cymbal in my school band.

Not cymbals.

They always told me they only had one, and that I needed to practice with that one until I became really good, and then they would buy a matching one.

So I would march with them, bringing the cymbal towards my other hand but never making a sound.

I never did get to try with two cymbals.

I'm back in paid employment now. Technical support.
