At my age, I don't have time to work it out myself ! Like, I no longer buy green bananas, you know
So tha'ts why my wife always brings home those instant puddings... :drop: (light-bulb moment!)

If it's like that, you have no need of a vintage wine cellar. But you do have need of caretakers. There's a whole lot in the Lounge ready to head into the cellar.

Well done Bob

In the UK they would say you only get 12 years for life in prison!!

I have been with the present wife for 40 years but only celebrate the 3rd aniversary this July (only married for financial reasons you understand  )

Steve, first, congratulations! Second, how do you decide which anniversary day to celebrate?

My wife and I have been wondering. We proposed to each other April 12, 1990 and considered ourselves married from that day forward... but legally got married October 23, 2013. So I'm thinking we can have two parties per year--the old date and the new one! But then, that might be excessive...

Of course, everyone's invited! We just have to decide--one party or two?

Hi Anne

We don't really celebrate a day but for instances this evening I walked past a florist and though oh, she would like those and bought a bunch of flowers along with a couple of bunches of daffs because she always loves those in the spring. As a big old softy though I do something for July the 7th, the official day, and for this year I have already bought her a set of Waterford crystal wine glasses (large size!!) and a lovely crystal bowl in which I will place floating heart candles for when she gets up and because we live for the weekend and going to our trailer by the sea (you could make a song about that, lets call it Jessie paint a picture) I have bought a giant heart cockle from South Africa which I will also place candles in.

I'd get worried if he started walking about with a staff, and parting the waters!

It really is nice, isn't it? I get sort of sad when I hear all the statistics about the number of failed marriages. I just hope and pray we're blessed with the wonderful 60 year relationship my parents shared. (Everyone told them no way, don't do it--it'll never last--it's a mixed marriage! Dad was protestant, Mom was Catholic and Dad was from Richmond VA while Mom was from Boston MA. But I think the critics were wrong, don't you?)

We have two actual wedding anniversaries. We were married by church in Mexico City, but in orde to be married by church, we had to be married by law, which we were only able to do in the time we had by being married in San Francisco.

So two anniversaries 11 days apart- 52 wedding anniversaries we've celebrated.

And do you think my wife ever reminds me about the 51 I've remembered?
