at the risk of bragging...

Post by stuck »

I've mentioned in the past that my youngest son seems to have a talent for music.

This last week has seen him reach new highs. First he was told he'd passed the ABRSM Diploma (piano) exam he'd taken earlier in the summer, only two or three few weeks after his 16th birthday.

This morning he received a letter awarding him an organ scholarship at one of the colleges at Oxford University. This means that as long as he gets three A grades in his exams next summer he will be off to study music at Oxford.

I'm just a little bit proud of him.

I think you are perfectly entitled to blow your own trumpet :fanfare:

Congratulations to your youngest - Oxford is not to far from me so we'll have to arrange for a beer sometime

There is no piano (or keyboard player) in this smiley band: :music:
Thats because your son is in Oxford and now has other commitments

CONGRATS to you and your son...I wish him ALL the best

And BTW: About your boasting...
I cannot think of anything else that more blessed and awesome than a father that's proud of his son!!!

Cheers Ken! (Savour this moment!)
Regards,
Rudi

Your son has worked hard applying himself to his chosen path and achieving honors at a tender age (though he would not agree with that description, I'm sure). You should be very proud of him and of yourself for having given him the support needed to do so.

Give him my best wishes and kindest regards along with my congratulations on his achievements. There are sure to be many to follow!

I had to double check this morning but the letter was still on the desk and the words in it really did say that the college was making him this offer so yesterday wasn't a dream after all.
