Is that a tonic so-fa?

Makes sense, but I haven't been able to convincingly argue for it with myself, since reading your solution Hans.

Edit: Can't find anything against the line and can see how you got to it, I think that's very acceptable. Should know in a day or so as it is third/fourth party puzzle passed on.
Cheers, Claude.

The closest I have ever come to singing was a decade or so ago when I was signing cheques.

Do, re, mi, fa, so-fa, la, ti, do! (It throws the rhythm out a bit!) :hairout:

Do, re, mi, fa, so, la, cappuccino, do! (It throws the rhythm out a bit too!) :groan:

Just admit it....none of you guys are even the slightest musically inclined!!

Hold it a minute! The first one had the octave backwards:

Do, ti, la, sofa, mi, re, do

and Alan had

Do, re, mi, fa, so, latte, do

Either way; whoever has to play these complex compositions will need the sofa and a latte afterwards.

I had to find an ascending scale, coz I couldn't find any images of a ti-la!
