14/15
I refused to make a selection about "ensure" and "insure". In the universe that I know, they have no common meaning; only in the Webster dictionary do they have the same meaning. My take is that the 'quiz' is biased towards speakers of the North American version of English and is not applicable to more culturally superior speakers

With respect to the question on "Their are four spelling misteaks in this sentence", I was asked two versions: one asked how many mistakes (correct answer given as 3), the second asked how many spelling mistakes (correct answer given as 2), so it is the semantic definition of what constitutes a mistake.

Yep....
Well done on that English Test. I ran through it twice and in both cases got 12.

In one case I got this question and was surprised to have it wrong??
Spoiler
I said 2 mistakes...where is the third error???

Can it be that the quotes are an error, since it's NOT really a quote? But then that is unfair!
On my test I said 2 and it showed 2 as being correct !

Also, I have never said (or heard) ThreSH-OLD. I always say ThreSH-HOLD.

Also, the words TOURACO, TRAGOPAN, CURASSOW, and CARACARA are a matter of knowledge and are nothing whatsoever to do with English or Grammar !

In my world, ensure means to "make certain" and insure to to take out financial cover should a mishap occur.

Also, many people confuse licence and license and also advice and advise.

I think we can all agree that the quiz, while mildly entertaining, is not really a good test of one's knowledge of the English language. Some of the questions are more suitable for a trivia quiz, and some of the 'correct' answers are debatable.

Unfair...! :groan:
That proves it...the test is rigged since no-one has got 15/15, even with multiple tries.

I missed that one...my humble apologies

On the other hand, can an incorrect correct answer really be correct? :woops:

Within the constraints of the game, yes. But in a broader context, no...
