A SUMMARY TO CLARIFY

- The item is ON an office desk
- It is NOT electronic

In normal use, does it create usable pieces of paper of a specific size (like scissors or guillotine)?

This is NOT a question Leif...

OK, so what is hand-held and cuts paper?

Shall we consort and get consensus to what this might be before we return to Leif with an answer? (Only 3 Q's left.)
Who says a scissor?
Anyone with any other items to mention?

Rudi

Scissors looks like best bet to me, then guillotine, paper-knife doesn't seem likely as it's normal use isn't to create paper of a useful size

I also think a scissors is the best bet.
A guillotine is not usually hand-held. And with 3 guesses, if its not a scissors, a paper knife (or envelope opener) is a decent alternative guess.

That's half right because the object was in fact
Spoiler
A pair of scissors
- but I'll give it to you  :fanfare:

(And just as I was getting ready with my cryptic clue of
Spoiler
It could give you a hand in a popular game
 )

:whisper: The "wave" smiley was animated in Woody's Lounge, but somehow the animation didn't survive the move to Eileen's Lounge...
Best wishes,
