I'll endeavour to answer only yes and no - it's an inanimate object in my office, so off you go...

Re: 20 Questions #2
It's really not clever to ask questions of the "Is it a ..." type at this stage of our knowledge. If you think it might be a paper clip, or a stapler etc. then try to think of a broader question that will help narrow down the field - for example "Is it something used to join sheets of paper together". That's good because if we get a Yes we know it's one of those things, or sticky tape, or something similar. If we get a NO then we've avoided asking lots of "Is it a... " questions

Re: 20 Questions #2
THIS IS A SUMMARY - I'M NOT ASKING A QUESTION
- The item is ON an office desk
- It is NOT electronic
- It is associated with paper
- Its NOT a paperclip or a stapler
- Its NOT used to capture information
So, if its associated with paper and it does not capture info, then it would either store info like a (file, notepad, file-o-fax, business-card holder) or it does something with paper like (a sellotape, punch, paperweight).

Re: 20 Questions #2
I think you have some embedded assumptions there Rudi. For example if the thing is a pack of origami paper or a roll of wrapping paper then it doesn't fit any of your categories.
