For over a year now I've been unable to reinstall (Windows) on the IBM XSeries 232.
This thread ("It seems that I have to completely restore the bios to Default settings every time I unplug/uncable the Cdrom drive PERIOD. ") solved the problem.
I'm posting here because it seems that this might be a solution that applies to many different hardware and software platforms.
