The Cyan gave out so yesterday I bought a new Cyan cartridge. Tiger Direct was out of stock at $99 but Staples was in stock at $124. (Story of my life yesterday ... see "bait and switch" My New netbook)
I bought a cartridge home, but before unwrapping it made a small adhesive label that reads "Staples Dundas Street 2010/10/10 $141" (which is $124+tax)
I don't want to start yet-another-spreadsheet recording my life, but I figure that if I do this for each cartridge I'll be able to narrow down
(1) Which stores stock dud cartridges
(2) How soon after purchase the smears develop
As well I wiped down the plastic carriage belt and soft-vacuumed traces of toner around the sides of the mechanism.
