Xbox 360

Post by brroklein »

I bought my Xbox 360. When it came out first it’s been working great, but it finally was giving up. My games just constantly started freezing a lot. I don't mind purchasing another Xbox 360, but the problem is I don't want to loose all of my memory. So can I remove my hard drive from my messed up Xbox 360 and install it to my new Xbox 360 and it will have all the stuff it had on the old Xbox 360?

Hi Brroklein,

Welcome to Eileen's Lounge.

Personally I know nothing about Xbox, but just want to confirm if you are aware of the USB thumb drive or data transfer cable tecniques before you do a physical hard drive swop-out. Why put an old hard drive into a new Xbox....

Have a look at these web pages for guidance and options...

-- Youtube video to illustrate using thumbdrive to transfer data
-- Use the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Cable
-- How to Move Content to Another Xbox 360 Console
-- How to Transfer Old Xbox 360 HDD Data To A New Xbox 360 Slim
