Need Help with Cisco/Linksys Router

Post by BobH »

My Internet connection and speed problems have persisted since last weekend. I'm beginning to suspect my router. I was trying to point my browser at it and was successful but I cannot remember the username and password I set on it a long time ago. I tried resetting the router and logging in to it again but now I cannot remember the default username and password. My connection is so intermittent that I cannot get my search engine to the Linksys site to find out.

Can anyone tell me the default username and password that Linksys used? I remember the username as admin but cannot remember the password.

 :chocciebar: :thankyou:

Most routers have admin for both username and password, but not always depending on make and model.

Try these default user names:

Linksys BEFW11S4, WRT54G: admin
Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Ethernet routers: Administrator
Linksys Comcast routers: comcast
All other Linksys routers: [none]

And default passwords:
Linksys BEFW11S4: [none]
Linksys Comcast routers: 1234
All other Linksys routers: admin

Note:
Where the word [none] is listed above, no name or password is required.
Simply skip or press the Enter/Return key when prompted for those settings.

For a comprehensive list of username and passwords, see: http://portforward.com/default_username ... inksys.htm
