I have many old VHS tapes that I want to convert to digital files and then burn to CD/DVD. I have plenty of disk space; so doing the import and burn at the same time is not necessary. Besides, I would like to know how large each file is to decide whether I have room for it on a disk.
I have done this with an older VHS and the import time depends upon the speed of the device which is much too slow. I was wondering if anyone knows of a VHS player that will run at higher speeds to allow faster importing. Of course, I will need importer software that can handle high speed input, as well.
I have about 150 VHS tapes with varying amounts of encoded signal. Importing them at playback speed means that I shall probably have to live to be a centenarian to complete the task.
Any suggestions relative to this process would be greatly appreciated and gratefully received.
in advance
