Free PDF Software that Includes Indexing Capability

Post by BobH »

In looking at PDF freeware, I find lots of apps but none that will create indexes from existing PDF files or index files from Word.

Does anyone know of such software? I will use the US Constitution as my test document because there are a number of web pages that provide an index for it.

TIA

 :chocciebar: :thankyou:

Zotero is supposedly a "free, easy-to-use tool" that can index PDF files, though I've never used it so I don't know if it creates a separate index or can embed an index in the PDF file (as Acrobat can).

If it's still available, you can download a free copy of Adobe Acrobat version 8 (old but still functional), which will index PDF files. Follow the link to adobe.com given at http://josephlo.wordpress.com/2013/01/0 ... rom-adobe/.
