I originally used OOo, then switched to LOO because it sounded like it was an improvement over OOo. Now AOO is around and trumpeting that they are better than the others. In reality, it seems that they are the same animal. Googling around doesn't turn up much more than outdated posts or just more smoke and mirrors.

Can anyone give me any solid good reasons for now going to AOO?

No solid reasons...they are more similar than not!
Take your pick from these comparison reports
-- OpenOffice vs. LibreOffice: What’s the Difference and Which Should You Use?
-- Apache OpenOffice vs. LibreOffice
-- What's the difference between LibreOffice and OpenOffice?

Thanks for the info, Rudi.
Nothing much really new in them either. Some slight preference to LOO but nothing to sell the farm for.
I did what most thinking, progressive people do. I wrote each name on an index card, threw them at the ceiling and the one that stuck up there is the choice. AOO stuck, so Ill give it another chance.
Will let all know if I reverse and go back.
