I would like a free FTP Server application for a Mac, similar to the Filezilla Server Windows version.
I am running OSX 10.9.5 (Maverick) and know that it has built in FTP but no GUI interface. I would prefer a GUI interface for ease of setup/maintenance.
Your recommendations would be appreciated,
John

I must admit I overlooked that detail when I replied as I was in the process of rushing out to the shops. The web initially looked like a good find so i posted it without reading through the details. Sorry.
I can assist to locate more details when I'm at home tonight if you haven't come across anything in the mean time...
Cheers

Re: FTP Server For Mac
Howdy John,
I'm not a Mac but a search turned up this information. I don't know if it will help but it says that the OS comes with an FTP server that is, by default, deactivated.
Let us know if you get the FTP server working. I want to run one on my Windows platform. Have you used Filezilla Server successfully? If so, I'd appreciate any pointers you can share.

Re: FTP Server For Mac
BobH,
I successfully installed FileZilla Server on a Windows computer sometime back and it has been working without issues. If you would like to install the Windows version there is a YouTube video. I found the video very useful and straight forward.
I am aware that OSX comes with a default FTP server. I'm interested in one that works on OSX with a nice GUI interface.
If you have any questions after viewing/installing FileZilla Server for Windows, please post and we can work through them.
Regards,
John
