Hans, how do you get such neat circles around highlighted items?

Hans AFAIK, used Faststone Capture which has various editing tools to highlight screenshots. Circles, squares, arrows...rtc.

I use ScreenPresso that has the same tools (and others :grin: )
See the drawing tools (top right in the toolbar) in the editor after I capture an image

Rudi is correct. I use the Rectangle (Border Only) tool in FastStone Capture, with Rounded Corners and Drop Shadow turned on.

Rudi and Hans use excellent programs and are masters at them (IMHO based on this forum).

Windows paint also has the tools and should already be in Windows operating system:

I have FastStone Capture and ScreenPresso (and Windows :grin: ) installed on my system and never knew of those features.
