My Computer Toolbar
When I switched on just now The "My Computer Toolbar" appeared on the left hand side of the screen and completely disarranged all my desktop icons. Fiddling about I discovered that by right clicking the bar it showed a tick in the appropriate box [which I certainly never selected] so clearing the box made the unwanted bar to disappear leaving me to rearrange all the icons. What may have accounted for this malfunction and is there any way to prevent it happening again please?

You probably turned on the My Computer toolbar by an accidental mouse click/movement.
